Dads drummer/vocalist John Bradley recently gave us his top five vegan spots to go while on tour, so it’s perfectly fitting that his final meal would be from one of those spots. Bradley, along with guitarist/vocalist Scott Sharinger, has been known to frequent Chicago Diner, one of the most impressive vegan cafes in all the land, and his final food requests would consist entirely of items from their menu.
Bradley: It would probably end up being the Reuben sandwich from Chicago Diner.
[Laughs] There you go!
Their Reuben with a side of their mac and cheese and one of their chocolate peanut butter milkshakes.
So all they have to do is just move you from your prison cell to the Chicago Diner, with an escort, and you’re good to go. Or they can just cater it in for you, from Chicago.
Yeah…
What is it about that particular Chicago Diner meal that makes you want to have it as your last one?
It’s just very tasty, and it’s a very greasy, gluttonous meal, but it tastes amazing. The bread’s always super fresh and soft, the fake meats taste sooo good, and their cheese that they use is really amazing. The milkshake is amazing. It’s so hard to explain it without saying amazing 50 times, but it just tastes so full and rich and I love it.
So you’d be fully satisfied with that as your last meal.
Oh yeah. I think every time I eat it there I imagine that I’m just done after that.
Dads‘ I’ll Be the Tornado is out October 14 on 6131 Records.
Chicago Diner is located at 3411 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL.
