Act of Defiance and ex-Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick just wants a burrito

On June 17, 2015

In our experience, thrash metal dudes like to keep their final meal requests simple and to the point. In the case of ex-Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick, who recently started the new thrash metal band called Act of Defiance with fellow Megadeth ex-pat Shawn Drover, sometimes the simplicity of a big ol’ burrito works just fine. And when you’re stuck on a strict diet, the choice for your Death Row Dinner becomes almost painfully obvious: MONSTER BURRITO!

Broderick: Lately, I’ve decided to try this diet they call it the Paleo Diet and it’s one of the most uninteresting diets you could ever do. It’s not tasty at all. So, if I were on my deathbed, the last meal that I would have would be a burrito just slathered in sauce and cheese and sour cream. That’s what I would want. Unfortunately, it’s not part of the current diet that I’m on.

I was just going to say… the Paleo Diet is out the window for the final meal. But that’s understandable, and fair enough.
Yeah, you know what, if I’m on death row it’s not going to make a difference at that point, right?

Totally. Would you want to add anything else to the burrito? Maybe a drink of your choice?
Hmmm, naw, just the burrito. That sounds good to me.

Now, how big would this burrito actually be? I’m picturing something rather large…
About the size of my head. [Laughs] It would be the size of my head, knowing that my last moments would be the total gut bomb.

What would you want inside the burrito? What’s your choice of protein?
You know, I would probably do either pulled or shredded pork with some hot chilis in there.

And you could die happy on that?
Yup!

Act of Defiance‘s Birth and the Burial comes out August 21 on Metal Blade Records.
