Groove metaller Dez Fafara currently splits his time between newly reformed nu-metal merchants Coal Chamber and his long-standing groove metal band DevilDriver, but he’s always got time for comfort food. When asked what his Death Row Dinner might be, Fafara went for an old standby.
Do you know what you’d like for a final meal? Think about it for a minute…
[Responds immediately.] It would have to be eggs with jalapeno ketchup. I’m a pretty simple guy, dude. I come from a blue-collar background, you know what I mean? And I love that new jalapeno ketchup, so that’s where I would go with that. Most people would say, “Steak and lobster!” But fuck that. You’re gonna kill me in 10 minutes anyway. Give me my favourite, which is eggs with ketchup.
And how would you like your eggs?
Scrambled, man. No cheese.
Anything else to go with it, like a drink, or something sweet? Or just the big plate of eggs?
No, man. Well, actually, a big glass of red wine would be awesome, too. If it could be eggs and a big glass of Sangiovese, I’d be good. But I’m a pretty simple guy.
Coal Chamber‘s Rivals is out May 22 on Napalm Records.
DevilDriver‘s Winter Kills came out in 2013 on Napalm Records.
