Pelican, those masters of instrumental post-metal, have released a new live video for “Dead Between the Walls,” a track from their 2007 album, City of Echoes.
Filmed live at the Glass House in Pomona, CA in 2012 and the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA in 2014, with live sound from the 2012 Pomona show, the clip highlights the Chicago quartet’s innate ability to lock into a monolithic groove.
The live video is the handiwork of filmmaker Diona Mavis, who also directed the band’s music video for “Lathe Biosis,” from their 2012 EP Ataraxia/Taraxis.
Pelican‘s most recent release is the double album Forever Becoming, which came out in 2013 on Southern Lord.
They play Southwest Terror Fest on October 17 in Tucson, Arizona.
