Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec is upon us once again on June 20-21 and this year is promising to be the festival’s biggest edition yet. In fact, it’s almost as if festival organizer Alex Martel compiled a random dream list of headliners, threw it against the wall and see what stuck.
Please enter into evidence exhibit A: Headliners range from Blink-182, to Weezer, to Alice in Chains, to Megadeth, to Mötley Crüe. Consistency? Pish posh, what’s that? But you’ve got to hand it to him because Martel sought to make a festival that gets people talking, and he certainly accomplished that this year.

Speaking of the Crüe, they’re among my top five don’t-miss bands, if only as a guilty pleasure. I’ve never had the privilege of seeing them live, unless seeing Vince Neil play solo on Fremont Street in Las Vegas to a bunch of people with fanny packs counts. And after Rockfest, I’ll never have the chance again; the festival marks the kickoff to the band’s supposed last tour ever.
